General Counsel

Martin Clemm joined Software GmbH’s Management Team as General Counsel in January 2025 and is responsible for Legal, IP, Corporate Assurance, Technology Compliance & Alliances. He served as Group General Counsel and Member of the Compliance Board of Software AG since 2019. He joined Software AG as part of the alfabet AG acquisition in 2013, starting with the primary responsibility of globally digitizing the Legal Department.

Before joining Software AG, Martin spent 13 years running the Legal Department and – in parallel for 10 years – the HR Department of alfabet AG. He started his career at the Law Firm Feddersen Laule Ewerwahn Scherzberg Finkelnburg Clemm, where he specialized in Civil Construction-, Insurance- and Banking Law.

Martin is a qualified Lawyer (1st & 2nd state exam Law, KG Berlin). He studied at the Free University Berlin, Germany. In 1994, he supported Restitution Law matters at Curry, Houseman, Popeck, London, United Kingdom. Together with his family, he lives in Potsdam, Germany.
