Santiago Madruga

Santiago joins Software AG with more than 25 years of experience leading international go-to-market organizations. Most recently, Santiago served as the VP of EMEA Partner Sales at Red Hat, where he was part of the team that made the company grow until its acquisition by IBM for $33Bn. In his 14 years tenure with Red Hat, he held various sales leadership roles, including leading the EMEA Telco market and the EMEA Presales and Services organisations. Prior to Red Hat, he worked at companies such as Cisco and PTC. Santiago’s extensive leadership experience includes scaling B2B software businesses in a lean manner, partnering across the different company areas, and with ecosystem and customers, to deliver strong and sustainable growth based on value to the clients. He has a proven track record in driving alignment on company vision and strategy, and executing in an ambitious and predictable way, which will help Software AG on its new stage as a company.
Santiago holds a bachelor’s degree in business management from the University of Lincoln in the UK, and an e-MBA from IE University in Spain. In addition, he completed executive education on Global Business and Matrix Organisations with IESE Business School and trained as an Executive Coach with IE.
Santiago is married with two children and resides in Madrid, Spain. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family and friends, and enjoys skiing and hiking in the mountains.
