iECO
Intelligent Empowerment of Construction Industry

Description
The aim of iECO is to create a common data space for the construction industry based on Gaia-X and to use this to create a tamper-proof digital twin of the entire life cycle of a building. • Goal 13: Climate Action
Target 13.3: Improve education, awareness-raising and human and institutional capacity on climate change mitigation, adaptation, impact reduction and early warning
How Software AG's products contribute to sustainability

Cumulocity IoT is used here for the prototype implementation of a platform for recording energy consumption during the operation of machine tools. Companies can quickly connect the sensors of their machine tools to Cumulocity IoT and thus determine the CO2 emissions generated depending on the type of energy, which can even be assigned to each individual workpiece if required.

ARIS Process Mining is used to identify real processes in machining production by using the entries from various systems to draw conclusions about the actual process steps performed. Not only can deviations from planned process sequences be detected, but energy consumption and therefore CO2 emissions can also be allocated if the machine tools do not have sensors. In addition, costs arising from employee wages or material consumption, for example, can be automatically derived.

To solve this huge economic but above all societal problem, REIF investigates the potential of Artificial Intelligence to optimize planning and controllability of the value chain. The core is the conception of an AI ecosystem that integrates stakeholders at all stages of the value chain.

SENATOR
Smart network operator for sustainable governance decision-making based on shared-connected freight delivery towards a better urban planning

Funded by:

European Union

Description

The main objective of SENATOR project is to provide four governance schemes for urban planning policies: User demand planning, Transport planning, Freight & Logistics planning and City infrastructure focused, bringing together relevant stakeholders in urban freight logistics within one multi-collaborative framework based on a new urban logistics model to attend the requirements of the 'on demand economy'. Therefore, SENATOR develops a smart network operator supported on an ICT (Information and Communications Technology) platform for integrated logistics operation.

SynErgie 3
Synchronized and energy-adaptive manufacturing engineering for flexible alignment to a fluctuating energy supply

Funded by:

Federal Ministry of Education and Research

Description
SynErgie will demonstrate how energy-intensive production processes can be adjusted to a volatile energy supply. The project is developing a synchronization platform that steers and monitors energy distribution within the production system and responds to flexibility requirements within the power system in a highly dynamic manner. The focus of the third funding phase is on generalizing, standardizing and validating the solutions developed in the first and second funding phases and to further enhance the integration capabilities of the SynErgie technology stack.

Partners
  • The consortium consists of more than 80 partners from research, industry, and civil society.
Duration
July 2023 to June 2026

UN Sustainable Development Goals
  • Goal 7: “Affordable and Clean Energy”
Target 7.2: “Increase substantially the share of renewable energy in the global energy mix”
  • Goal 8: “Decent Work and Economic Growth”
Target 8.4: Improve progressively, through 2030, global resource efficiency in consumption and production and endeavour to decouple economic growth from environmental degradation, in accordance with the 10-Year Framework of Programmes on Sustainable Consumption and Production, with developed
  • Goal 9: “Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure”
Target 9.4: “Upgrade infrastructure and retrofit industries to make them sustainable, with increased resource-use efficiency and greater adoption of clean and environmentally sound technologies and industrial processes, with all countries taking action in accordance with their respective capabilities”

How Software AG's products contribute to sustainability

SynErgie shows how energy-intensive production processes can be adapted to a volatile energy supply. The project is developing a synchronization platform with Cumulocity IoT and ARIS that controls and monitors energy distribution within the production system and reacts highly dynamically to flexibility requirements in the electricity system.
